WINCHESTER & PORTSMOUTH DIOCESAN GUILD

Presentations of a dressing table set to each of the two lady treasurers (the Misses Hazel and Cherry White), who at the end of the year retire from office, consequent upon their removal to South London, were made at the meeting of the Andover District at Longparish on September 24th. The presentations took them completely by surprise, and were in appreciation of their services.

A good crowd of members enjoyed ringing on the pretty six bells until service time. The Guild service was conducted by the Rector (Rev. Agg Large) and this was followed by the good Longparish tea. Mr. A. W. Alliston presided at the meeting, and a long discussion took place over the annual report, members feeling there was much room for improvement - too many peals and too little of interest to the average ringer.

In the evening ringing took place at Hurstbourne Priors and St. Mary Bourne.
