WINCHESTER & PORTSMOUTH GUILD

Beginners Prominent at Basingstoke Meeting

The spring meeting of the Basingstoke District was held at Church Oakley on April 13th, when 50 ringers attended, and some good practice was put in for the beginners who turned up in force. The Guild service was conducted by Canon G. H. Jeudwine and the address given by the Rev. F. S. H. Maule, Rector of Deane. The lesson was read by the hon. secretary of the Branch.

Tea was kindly given by Canon and Mrs. Jeudwine and the Church Oakley ringers, and was much appreciated by all present. New members were elected from Monk Sherborne and Church Oakley.

The Four-Guilds Festival has been fixed for September 14th at Basingstoke. After tea, good use was made of both Church Oakley and Deane bells.
